Myth of Permanence 014: 'Best' Amber Lager
Inspired by our flagship, Henderson's Best Amber Ale, this Amber Lager has notes of caramel and toasty malt, followed by subtle flavours of citrus and resinous piney hops.
We decided to create this 'lager fermented' version of Best to demonstrate just how instrumental the strain of yeast can be in the brewing process.
The English Yeast that we use for our Best Amber Ale is quite expressive, giving the beer an enhanced fruity character and a slightly sweeter finish. Whereas, the lager yeast highlights the malt notes without the supporting fruitiness, allowing the hops shine through a little more in the finish.
