Finance Manager

Our beers are available in the LCBO, Loblaws, The Beer Store & some of the best bars & restaurants across Ontario.
You will be reporting to our GM and working along with the VP of Sales & our dynamic Board of Directors to really help Henderson continue to grow – in the right way.
Note: This role requires you to work from the brewery a min 4 days/week
As the Financial Controller, you will oversee various aspects of our business operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across all functions. You will play a crucial role in managing finances, supporting events efforts, maintaining partnerships, and facilitating day-to-day operations.

You’ll be working from our offices attached to the brewery at 128A Sterling Road, Toronto. While finance & strategy are your areas of expertise – you’ll be expected to attend & work most of our events & festivals.
You are detail oriented with excellent management, communication and organizational skills. You must have exceptional computer skills, specifically with spreadsheets, downloading data and formatting the data for input into Quickbooks Online and Point of Sale Software applications (all web
based). Experience with QuickBooks Online, Square, Shopify, Door Dash, Skip the Dishes and other eCommerce platforms is a distinct advantage.
You are a problem-solver and multi-tasker who recognizes that working with a small business requires adapting to changes from one day to the next. You thrive in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Day-to-Day Banking and Financial Management:
- Manage day-to-day banking activities including cash flow monitoring, cash flow maintenance, and reconciliation.
- Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including invoicing and credit card management.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports and analysis, providing insights into business performance.
Lending and Financial Partnerships:
- Coordinate lending activities, including payments for loans and lines of credit.
- Cultivate strong relationships with financial partners to ensure smooth operations and favourable terms.
Sales Support and Customer Relations:
- Provide sales support by communicating with customers via email, addressing inquiries, and assisting with order processing.
- Oversee export business operations, managing transactions and compliance with provincial and US regulations.
Tax Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with excise and provincial tax regulations, preparing required reports such as sales reports, production reports, and inventory reports.
- Manage tax-related documentation and liaise with relevant authorities as needed.
Partnership Management:
- Collaborate with key partners, including Bench, Rush, and Symes, to facilitate monthly and quarterly reporting, invoicing, and payments.
- Translate partnership data into financial records and reports, working closely with relevant stakeholders
Month-End and Management Reporting:
- Generate month-end reports for management, including profit and loss summaries and budget-to-actual analyses.
- Provide insights into taproom versus digital sales performance and support strategic decision-making.
Logistics:
- Aid with logistics operations, including ordering cans and scheduling keg pickups and deliveries.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Create ad hoc reports to support business decisions and optimize operational efficiency.
- Conduct analyses on various aspects of the business, responding to inquiries and providing actionable insights.
Festival and Event Management:
- Oversee vendor billing, tracking, and payments for festivals and events.
- Collaborate with partners to ensure successful event operations and post-event reporting.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with grant applications and other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in financial management, preferably in the beverage or hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications such as QuickBooks, Shopify and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively prioritize tasks.

Pay: $65,000.00-$73,000.00 per year
