Ides 87: The 6ix in the Sky

Kölsch4.6%

A clean, simple, and balanced between subdued maltiness and low (but important) hop character.

As with almost every July since 2016, our Ides beer this month celebrates the annual Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, now in its 62nd year. Founded in 1961 by Murray and Marvelle Koffler, the TOAF has helped launch numerous careers. Notable artists such as Ken Danby, David Blackwood, Joanne Tod, Jennifer Stead and Harlan House exhibited here during early stages of their careers and, last year, Sasha Sutherland did the same, winning the Best of Painting award.
Sasha Sutherland is an artist and art teacher. In 2022, she graduated from York University with a BFA and BED degree.
Sasha works with vibrant colours to lend a utopian dimension to the cities she depicts. Sasha’s futuristic paintings of these imagined cities portray various perspectives consisting of tubes as a means of transportation throughout each place.

For this July’s Ides beer, we brewed a very quaffable, subtly fruity and spicy Kõlsch with a crisp and clean finish, perfect for a warm summer’s day.
