Ides 35: Terminal 2

Bière de Mars6.4%

Do you ever wonder, when travelling to Pearson Airport, why there are no signs for Terminal 2? The answer requires some digging. Years ago, when space travel was just a dream, the terminal was redesignated for just such a future. With a new Terminal 1 and 3 handling all the traffic the city required, Terminal 2 could be allocated to “special status,” i.e. travel to Mars! To celebrate the amazing Terminal 2, we’ve created a Bière de Mars, ready to refresh you on the long flight to the red planet.

Actually, none of this is true. Terminal 2 just isn’t. At one point in time, the airport did have three terminals, but in 2007, Terminal 1’s expansion meant that it was able to absorb the operations from the smaller Terminal 2. January 29, 2007 was the last day that Terminal 2 was in operation, leaving us with the uniquely numbered terminals that we know and love today.

This Bière de Mars (literally “Beer for March”) is perfect to enjoy before a long flight while you impress fellow travellers with your airport trivia knowledge. Brewed only for the month of March, we hope you’ll enjoy this bottle conditioned Saison-style beer, inspired by the classic farmhouse ales of France, which were brewed in Spring, but could be enjoyed year-round.

*Biere de Mars is a traditional French farmhouse beer style. Think of it as the malty cousin of Saison.
