Suds for Buds

Grodziskie 3.5%

In collaboration with Vox & Hops Alumni and metalhead content creator, Thrashed, we’ve brewed this Grodziskie, an oak smoked wheat ale that gets its name from the Polish town of Grodzisk Wielkopolski. The Grodziskie is a beer we don’t see often. Despite being hugely popular in the 18th and 19th centuries, the style fell into obsolescence in the early 1990s, until its revival just a few years ago. Pale and light bodied with notes of crackery malt and peppery floral hops, and at only 3.5% ABV, the sip is refreshing with a clean, dry finish.

OG: 9.0
IBU: 18
SRM: 5
Carbonation: 2.70 Volumes (High)
Malts: Oak Smoked Wheat, Cherry Smoked Barley
Hops: Magnum, Tettnanger
Yeast: Cali Ale
Appearance: Pale straw with a light haze, thin white head
Aroma: Smoke, smoked salmon, mild ham, sweet crackery malt, peppery floral hops
Taste: Smoke, sweet, doughy malt, pepper, lingering smoked salmon
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with a tingly effervescence, clean, dry finish with lingering smoke
Overall impression: A very light and refreshing smoked ale that doesn't overpower your senses with smoke
